There is no reason for Dino to be gay. Are there any sequel series? When I mentioned that to my coworkers who love him, they all swore to me that he gets character development later on. I like that Yarros made some effort to make her characters diverse. I was never a Darkling stan, though, so the Darkling but actually good is not much of a selling point for me even though I can see how that would have appeal elsewhere. I knew that he was the enemies-to-lovers love interest.

The book is also pretty dark.
